DAUGHTERS OF IRAN. THE OTHER HALF OF HISTORY

There are few countries in the world in which women have undergone such dramatic change as in Iran. This four part documentary series tells the story of the country exclusively through the perspective of women, through personal memories, distinct voices, and experiences shaped by hope, loss, and resistance.

The protagonists guide us through the defining moments of modern Iranian history, from the modernization of the 1960s and the Islamic Revolution to the Iran Iraq War and the protest movements of the present day.

Accompanied by striking archival footage, the series unfolds into a panorama of Iran that is both intimate and political. It reveals how deeply the fate of women is intertwined with the upheavals of their country, and how profoundly this history continues to resonate today.
