Zwei Jahrzehnte zuvor hatte eine US-gef\u00fchrte Koalition nach den Anschl\u00e4gen vom 11. September das Taliban-Regime gest\u00fcrzt und eine neue \u00c4ra von Demokratie, Frieden und Menschenrechten angek\u00fcndigt.<\/p>\n

Die dreiteilige Dokumentarserie \u201eDie Letzten Tage von Kabul\u201c blickt auf zwanzig Jahre Krieg in Afghanistan zur\u00fcck und fragt: Was ist schiefgelaufen?<\/p>\n

Im Zentrum stehen Menschen aus Afghanistan, sowie Entscheidungstr\u00e4ger, darunter Ex-Pr\u00e4sident Ashraf Ghani, dessen Flucht den Fall Kabuls einl\u00e4utete. Erg\u00e4nzt wird dies durch Berichte von Zivilisten, Journalisten, Frauenrechtsaktivisten, ehemaligen Ministern, Geheimdienstchefs sowie Ex-Vizepr\u00e4sident Abdul Raschid Dostum. Erstmals schildert ein Gr\u00fcndungsmitglied der Taliban die Geschichte und Ideologie der Bewegung sowie ihren Weg zur\u00fcck zur Macht. Auch US- und NATO-Kommandeure, CIA-Mitarbeiter und hochrangige Diplomaten wie Douglas Lute sowie Zalmay Khalilzad, der das Doha-Abkommen mit den Taliban verhandelte, kommen zu Wort.<\/p>\n

Die Serie rekonstruiert anhand pers\u00f6nlicher Geschichten und umfangreichen Archivmaterials zwei Jahrzehnte Konflikt. Sie beleuchtet die Ursachen f\u00fcr das Scheitern \u2013 darunter Vers\u00e4umnisse, Korruption und gebrochene Versprechen. Gedreht in f\u00fcnf L\u00e4ndern auf drei Kontinenten macht \u201eDie Letzten Tage von Kabul\u201c eindr\u00fccklich klar, warum Afghanistan nicht in Vergessenheit geraten darf.<\/p>\n
